345th Things First - What Has Become Of Science?

Science is largely not about new discoveries these days. It's about who has the biggest pocketbook and finding what the "predetermined" outcome of the study is even if the findings can't prove it. Science isn't just about being wrong. In a lot of cases, it's about being deceptively wrong. The science that IS about discovery, problem-solving, and challenging what was presumed fact should be celebrated. It's fascinating, astonishing, and wonderful, but seldom sheds much light on what's really going on in its day. In some ways, it is a self-correcting system, but it's also a self-defeating system consistently pointing out how much we really don't know anything and when we think we do, it's only a matter of time before that changes anyway.
